Realistic Heterotic M-Theory Vacua and Stabilizing Kahler Moduli

Abstract:
Within the context of Heterotic M-Theory, we analyze a class ofvacua that are phenomenologically realistic at low energy; that is, they have the correct gauge group, particle spectrum, W/Z gauge boson masses, the experimentally observed Higgs mass, all superpartner masses exceed their present lower bounds and so on. However, it is demonstrated in detail that these realistic properties only occur if the K ̈ahler moduli and dilaton vacuum expectation values all lie in a specific region of moduli space.
