Abstract:
The xp model of Berry, Keating and Connes admits two different regularizations. The one by Berry and Keating yields a discrete semiclassical spectrum given by the smooth Riemann zeros. The one by Connes yields a continuum semiclassical spectrum where the smooth Riemann zeros are missing. We shall present two quantum mechanical Hamiltonians that provide a physical realization of these models.
