The Lerch zeta function and the Heisenberg group

Abstract:
The talk will treat analytic and algebraic properties of the Lerch zeta function. It will interpret many of its properties viewed as a kind of automorphic form on the Heisenberg nilmanifold, which is the real Heisenberg group modulo a discrete subgroup, the integer Heisenberg group.
