von Neumann algebras and holography

Abstract:
I will first motivate the benefit on taking the algebraic approach to understand AdS/CFT and how an algebra of local operators of a QFT can be understood utilizing von Neumann algebras, which has knowledge of a spacetime region. I will explain different types of von Neumann algebras and relative entropy in a more generic setting. Utilizing von Neumann algebras and quantum information theory, I will explain a new framework for understanding bulk reconstruction in a finite or infinite-dimensional boundary Hilbert space.
