Higher index theory and scalar curvature

Abstract:
I will give an introduction to higher index theory of Dirac operators and its applications to scalar curvature.In particular, I will discuss my recent joint work with Shmuel Weinberger and Zhizhang Xie on higher index theory at infinityand its applications to Gromov's compactness conjecture on scalar curvature.
