Abstract:
I will describe a new geometric approach for the shock formation problem for the multi-dimensional Euler equations that provides uniform estimates for the solution along the entire hypersurface on which the shock forms. This, in turn, allows for a complete description of the solution along this hypersurface of first singularities.
