Rethinking curve counting with quivers

Abstract:
The Knots-Quivers correspondence conjectures a relation between invariants of quiver representation theory and HOMFLY-PT polynomials of knots. The same knot invariants encode A-model partition functions associated to knot conormal Lagrangians in the resolved conifold. In this talk I will discuss geometric and physical interpretations of the quiver description of holomorphic curves, and elaborate on some of the consequences of this picture developed in joint works with Ekholm and Kucharski.
