Title:
Random Matrix Models, 2D Quantum Gravity, and Holography (Part 2)

Speaker:
Clifford Johnson

Abstract:
In the second of two lectures I will focus attention on JT gravity. It can be built non-perturbatively by using the matrix model building blocks of the previous lecture. Many of the features already discussed have counterparts here. This includes non-perturbative data showing an underlying discrete spectrum that collapses to the Schwarzian spectrum in the perturbative regime. It is proposed that there exists an holographic dual of JT gravity (defined on the disc with boundary) with a definite Hamiltonian with a spectrum of this type. This would mean that  2D holography works in  similar way to higher  dimensional cases, completely resolving the factorization puzzle.
