N=2 Argyres-Douglas Theories and Holography

Abstract:
The strongly coupled Argyres-Douglas field theories have particular significance among four-dimensional N=2 superconformal field theories. In this talk we review aspects of the geometric and field theoretic constructions of these strongly coupled QFTs, and describe new AdS5 solutions in 11d supergravity that are proposed to correspond to the gravity duals of a large class of Argyres-Douglas theories. We explain how the holographic data -- including the central charges and operator dimensions -- match the data of the dual field theories.
