Abstract:
I will survey some backgrounds on the recent progress in the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture. Some attention is given to polarized algebraic degenerations, especially the non-archimedean geometric framework. The overall emphasis is on geometric intuition, rather than proofs.
