Title:
Cubical dimension of groups

Speaker:
Kasia Jankiewicz

Abstract:
The cubical dimension of a group G is the infimum n such that G admits a proper action on an n-dimensional CAT(0) cube complex.  I will discuss some examples of groups with a gap between its cubical dimension and its cohomological or CAT(0) dimension.  This will include a construction of small cancellation groups with arbitrarily large cubical dimension.
