Title:
Transgression Forms and Kähler Geometry

Speaker:
Gang Tian

Abstract:
The Chern-Weil theory associates each Hermitian metric with a set of differential forms representing the Chern classes. Given two different metrics, the difference of these forms can be expressed explicitly by the transgression forms which lead to new and important secondary classes, such as the Chern-Simon classes and the Bott-Chern classes. In this general talk, I will discuss the role of these classes in Kahler geometry and show how to understand some of recent progresses in view of this and classical facts.
