RG Domain Walls and Janus Attractors

Abstract:
I overview recent work with D. Gaiotto and R. van der Veen that constructs half-BPS domain walls and boundary conditions for 4d N=2 gauge theories. In particular, I focus on a class of domain walls that connect weakly coupled nonabelian (UV) regimes of a theory with effective abelian Seiberg-Witten (IR) regimes. The domain walls are related to 3d cobordisms between 2d surfaces, and domain-wall partition functions are equivalent to Chern-Simons partition functions on such 3-manifolds.Related Papers:
