Large N expansion of beta-ensembles on arbitrary contours

Abstract:
We consider a model of logarithmic gas (the beta-ensemble) on an arbitrary closed contour in the plane and develop a method for the large N expansion of the free energy and correlation functions. The main technical tool is an analog of the “loop equation” (the Ward identity) which has the form of a boundary condition for the stress-energy tensor in a conformal field theory.
