Title:
An invitation to multiplier ideals

Speaker:
Rob Lazarsfeld

Abstract:
Multiplier ideals are ideals in the ring of holomorphic functions that measure in an interesting but subtle manner the singularities of analytic hypersurfaces. They arise in modern generalizations of the classical Kodaira vanishing theorem, and in recent years they have found many applications in algebraic and analytic geometry.
