Some moduli questions

I will discuss a number of examples (esp. cubic threefolds and K3 surfaces) for which we have a good understanding of their moduli space. However, the key question of constructing a geometric compactification is still open. It is hoped that the Riemannian geometry approach will shed some light on this question.
