Edge-tacnode phenomena in random tilings

Abstract:
Lozenge tilings of non-convex polygons will be discussed in this talk. Letting the polygons grow to infinity in an appropriate way yields new statistical fluctuations in regions of non-convexity. These fluctuations will be governed by a determinantal process given by the so-called edge-tacnode kernel.
