Title:
Hall viscosity from Hall conductivity in Dirac crystals

Speaker:
Maria A. H. Vozmediano

Abstract:
We investigate the presence and physical implications of elastic gauge fields in a large set of crystalline materials with non trivial topology in two and three dimensions. We demonstrate that, in these "Weyl crystals", Hall conductivity implies Hall viscosity. The new mechanism generates a new contribution to the Hall viscosity in 2D materials orders of magnitude bigger than the previously studied response. We will show that elastic axial gauge fields are also present in the Weyl semimetals. Among the new response functions associated to them, WSM have an intrinsic Hall viscosity at zero temperature and zero chemical potential, whose coefficient is related to the AAA triangle anomaly.
