Geometric Defects in FQH states

Abstract:
I will describe a geometric analogue of Laughlin quasiholes (or genons) in FQH states. These will turn out to correspond to branch points of a certain branched Riemann surface with Z_n symmetry. The genons are abelian for IQH states and non-abelian for FQH states. I will show how to calculate an electric charge, geometric spin and adiabatic mutual statistics of the genons.'
