Title:
Jack Polynomials as Quantum Hall States

Speaker:
Boris Hanin

Abstract:
This is an expository talk. I hope to explain, via the work of Bernevig-Haldane, how Jack polynomials naturally give rise to many important trial wavefunctions for the quantum Hall effect on the sphere. I will not assume any prior knowledge about Jack polynomials.
