The mod 2 cohomology of some SU(2) representation spaces for a surface

Abstract:
Consider the space of representations from the fundamental group of a punctured surface to SU(2) that are -1 around the puncture. We study the 2-torsion in the cohomology of this space. This is a by-product of our investigation into the mod 2 cohomology ring of the space of representations modulo conjugation. This is joint work with Matt Stoffregen.
