New results in N = 2 theories from non-perturbative strings

Abstract:
In this talk I will describe the magnetic phase of SU(M) N = 2 Super Yang-Mills theories in the self-dual Omega background in terms of a new class of matrix models. These arise from a recently proposed duality between topological string theory and the spectral theory of certain quantum mechanical operators. The connection with Painlevé equations is also discussed.
