Title:
Quantum chaos and eigenstate thermalization

Speaker:
Anatoli Polkovnikov

Abstract:
In this talk I will give an overview of recent developments of quantum chaos, its understanding through the random matrix theory and the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH). I will briefly mention how using ETH one can prove various thermodynamic identities for individual eigenstates of chaotic Hamiltonians without need to invoke any additional assumptions. I will also briefly discuss parallels between classical and quantum chaos based on the out of time order correlation functions and mention some unresolved problems.
