Title:
Index estimates for Min-max methods

Speaker:
Andre Neves

Abstract:
Yau's conjecture states that any manifold has an infinite number of minimal surfaces. I will talk about ongoing work with Fernando Marques regarding our program to solve Yau's conjecture. A crucial part of the program is to obtain index estimates for minimal surfaces that are produced via min-max methods. I will explain how to do that in certain simplified situations.
