Deriving local Floquet Hamiltonians using the replica trick

Abstract:
In this talk I will review standard ways of deriving local Floquet Hamiltonians using high frequency expansions. I will show how one can do a infinite resummation of the Magnus expansion in a periodically kicked Floquet. system from the Baker–Campbell–Hausdorff (BCH) formula. Then I will discuss how one can go beyond the standard BCH expansion using the replica trick. I will also discuss some unpublished ideas on the variational approach to deriving local Floquet Hamiltonians using ideas of a counter-diabatic driving.
