Title:
Integrable chiral Potts and tau2 model: Yang-Baxter and Onsager integrability, cyclic representations and parafermions, Ising correlations

Speaker:
Jacques H.H. Perk

Abstract:
In this talk we first introduce the integrable chiral Potts model defined by a higher-genus solution of the star-triangle (Yang-Baxter) equation. The R-matrix of this model connects with the asymmetric six-vertex model via a tau2 model as a cyclic representation in a quantum-group construction. We clarify, using some yet unpublished work, why the celebrated construction of Bazhanov and Stroganov fails for even roots-of-unity, and how to go around it. After that we discuss some aspects of the Onsager algebra and parafermions for related quantum chains. Finally we report some new results on the pair-correlation function of the Ising model on a diagonal.
