Title:
6D Discrete Charged Superconformal Matter from F-theory on Quotient Threefolds

Speaker:
Paul Oehlmann

Abstract:
We describe a class of 6d N=1 SUGRA theories coupled to novel (2,0) discrete charged superconformal matter. We describe those theories geometrially in terms of F-theory on genus-one fibered quotient Calabi-Yau threefolds and their covering spaces. To set the stage we give a basic summary for the massless F-theory degrees of freedom on the covering geometry for non-experts and show how these descend to the quotient. The resulting theories alway contain a discrete gauge symmetry that could originate from a non-simply connected non-Abelian gauge group. We use this connection to comment on possible maximal discrete gauge symmetries in six dimensions.
