Recovering the QNEC from the ANEC

Abstract:
In QFT we consider von Neumann algebras associated to spacetime wedge regions and satisfying the properties of a half-sided modular inclusion. In this context we show how to relate the quantum null energy condition to the averaged null energy condition using relative modular flow.
