A story of gravitational blocks and QFT indices

Abstract:
I will introduce a unified framework, and in particular an extremization principle, for the entropy of supersymmetric AdS black objects in gauged supergravity in diverse dimensions. This principle is based on the gravitational blocks that are directly related to holomorphic blocks appearing in the factorization of supersymmetric partition functions.
