Mini-course. Renormalization of maps of the circle and related topics

I will talk about renormalization of maps of the circle with and without critical points, and applications to higher-dimensional dynamics. The central idea of the mini-course is to describe the global renormalization picture into which such results fit, and to discuss the currently missing parts of this picture.
